Travel+Leisure magazine honors Vietnam’s 10 best beach resorts

June 18, 2023

Stretching along Long Beach next to a UNESCO-recognized world biosphere reserve, Regent Phu Quoc topped the list.

Opening its doors in April last year, the resort has 302 suites and villas, and its six restaurants and bars serve Japanese and French cuisines in addition to traditional Vietnamese food.

The resort also has a fitness center, meditation studio and rooftop yoga pavilions.

A night’s stay costs from VND9.8 million ($415.53).

Stretching along a 700-meter-long private beach on Son Tra Peninsula, considered as a 'green lung’ of Da Nang, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort came second.

It has 201 rooms, suites, penthouses, and villas surrounded by mountain ranges and tropical gardens.

Located within Son Tra Nature Reserve, home to some critically endangered species including red-shanked douc langur, the resort has strict policies to protect the wildlife.

Room rates cost from VND12 million.

JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa on the southern island Phu Quoc came third.

Lying only 15 minutes from Phu Quoc International Airport, the resort stretching along Khem Beach has 234 rooms, suites and stand-alone villas.

Construction of the French-style resort started in 2015, with its doors opening in 2016.

Room rates cost from VND6.5 million.

Around eight kilometers from the ancient town of Hoi An, Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai came fourth.

Spread over 35 hectares and overlooking Ha My Beach in the central province of Quang Nam, it has 100 villas and eight separate spa rooms all designed in traditional Vietnamese style.

The resort has its own vegetable garden and uses eco-friendly materials. At the heart of the resort is a small temple where fishermen pray before each voyage.

Room rates start from VND16 million.

Zannier Hotels Bai San Ho in the central province of Phu Yen was fifth.

It has 73 suites and villas wearing the architecture of traditional Vietnamese villages with thatched roofs and woven bamboo walls.

Its interior decorations highlight unique local culture with items like dried calabash gourds, traditional braided baskets and coconut shell tools made by local artisans.

Room prices cost from VND9.5 million (about $415) a night.

In sixth place was Anantara Quy Nhon, which has 26 beach-view villas with private outdoor swimming pools.

Beachfront private pool villas cost VND25 million a night while the cheapest is VND6.5 million.

Spread over 12 hectares along Dat Doc Beach, Six Senses Con Dao came seventh.

It is the only five-star beach resort in the Con Dao archipelago, a popular tourist destination off the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

Situated inside Con Dao National Park, it has 50 beach villas, built mainly with natural materials and each with a private swimming pool.

The price of a villa for two people ranges from VND9.4 million to 64 million.

Situated in the eponymous bay around 60 kilometers from downtown Nha Trang, Six Senses Ninh Van Bay was eighth.

It consists of 62 villas built entirely of wood and rattan and with thatched roofs.

No plastic bottles are allowed inside, making it one of the few eco-friendly resorts in Vietnam.

Room rates cost from VND22 million.

Located at the foot of Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountains), Hyatt Regency Danang Resort and Spa came in ninth.

It has 198 guestrooms and suites, 160 apartments and 22 villas overlooking Non Nuoc beach.

The resort has five outdoor swimming pools and is a 30-minute drive from Hoi An.

Room rates cost from VND4.24 million.

Located on Cam Ranh Peninsula, Ana Mandara Cam Ranh finished the list.

Just a 40-minute drive from Nha Trang, the resort has 176 beach-view rooms surrounded by green trees.

Due to its seclusion, the resort is an ideal choice for families during the summer escape.

Room rates cost from VND3.3 million.

Nominees were selected by the Travel+Leisure team of editors and expert contributors across Asia Pacific, and the winners were chosen based on a public vote.
